SERVICES
DEVELOPMENTAL Editing
Developmental editing looks at the manuscript as a whole and focuses on improving your story’s structure, pacing, perspective, narrative style, organization, and loose ends. In this in-depth process, material may be added, removed, or reorganized.
Line Editing
Line editing focuses on improving sentence structure, checking for consistency, removing clichés or awkward phrasing, and improving clarity and sense of scenes. Kristen’s line editing service also includes Kindle e-book formatting free of charge.
Copyediting
Copyediting is the last step in the editing process, focusing on the grammar, spelling, and punctuation of your manuscript. Copyediting occurs after the developmental and line editing passes to help improve the manuscript of surface errors.
First Chapter Critique
Does your opening chapter have what it takes to snag the reader? Will your reader be intrigued enough to continue reading? Kristen will critique your first chapter (up to 4,000 words) and point out potential flaws that may hinder your novel’s sales and success.
Manuscript Critique
Does your book have what it takes to make it in today’s market? After reading your entire manuscript, Kristen will provide you honest, constructive feedback in the form of a 15-page report addressing your characters, writing quality, pacing, and overall plot.
